THE SISTER OF SOLDIERS • A VISION ROOTED IN NATIONAL SERVICE

Our Chief Defence Observer: Ms. Parvati Jangid Suthar

View Complete Leadership Profile →

The vision behind DEFENCE OBSERVER is inspired by Ms. Parvati Jangid Suthar, widely known as the "Sister of Soldiers," whose 17-year journey of selfless service reflects an enduring commitment to the welfare of India’s Armed Forces, the dignity of military sacrifice, and the national ideal of “Surakshit Seema – Samarth Bharat”.

For 17 continuous years, Parvati Jangid Suthar has traversed remote Himalayan outposts, desert border posts of the Thar, and forward battalions to convey a heartfelt message from 140 crore Indians: "India remembers your service, honors your vigilance, and stands firmly behind you."

Through the Bharat Raksha Parva Yatra, celebrating Raksha Bandhan and Diwali at the frozen heights of the borders, she has tied sacred Raksha Sutras on the wrists of hundreds of thousands of jawans, establishing that border security is not merely a military responsibility but a shared national consciousness.

EDITORIAL INTEGRITY • निष्काम संपादकीय सिद्धांत

The Eight Editorial Principles of DEFENCE OBSERVER

Credibility is earned through relentless verification, intellectual honesty, transparent attribution, and absolute refusal to indulge in speculative sensationalism.

CANON 01

Accuracy Before Speed

We value timely reporting, but speed must never replace verification. Every name, date, weapon designation, budget figure, and operational claim is cross-checked against credible primary records.

CANON 02

Verification & Attribution

We prioritize official gazettes, MoD statements, Parliament records, primary research, and authenticated technical briefs, maintaining transparent attribution across all dispatches.

CANON 03

Context Before Sensationalism

We strictly avoid exaggerated clickbait headlines, unverified battlefield rumours, or inflammatory narratives designed to provoke fear or distort strategic facts.

CANON 04

Independence of Editorial Judgement

Editorial assessments are governed by strategic relevance, evidence, and public interest. Commercial partnerships and sponsorships never dictate our analytical conclusions.

CANON 05

Clear Separation of Fact & Opinion

Primary news dispatches, analytical net assessments, opinion columns, and sponsored monographs are transparently labelled to prevent ambiguity for the reader.

CANON 06

Fairness & Responsible Reporting

We present verified facts objectively, attribute disputed claims fairly, and provide legitimate institutional opportunities for response when reporting material allegations.

CANON 07

Transparency & Systematic Corrections

When a material factual error is identified, we promptly review, verify, and publish a clear editorial correction detailing what was modified and why.

CANON 08

Respect for Operational Sensitivity

We uphold strict operational security (OPSEC). We never publish unverified troop movements, sensitive classified capabilities, or data that could endanger military personnel.
